Learn Something Valuable From Robin Williams’ Death


Many of us know Robin Williams, the famous American actor, film producer and screenwriter, who also has been one of the greatest comedian in the world of television and movie. Earlier this month, the world was shocked for the news of his death. The cause of Robin Williams’ death, according to the investigators, was suicide by hanging.

The rumor immediately spread in the social media, and many are arguing some matters about the truth behind his death. One of the arguments that I’ve spotted is “why did Robin Williams commit suicide?”

Suicide has been one of the leading causes of death in Florida, where Robin Williams lives, and DEPRESSION is the number one cause of suicide. See the connection? So, I think we already have the answer.

NOW… I would like to share you my thoughts about what depression really is.

What is Depression?

According to Science

Depression is a condition of mental disturbance to a greater degree than seems warranted by the external circumstances, typically with lack of energy and difficulty in maintaining concentration or interest in life.

To make it more simple, Depression means a deep sadness, despair and or sorrow, but it can be more than that. People who are suffering from depression may feel more lifeless and empty, affecting their everyday lifestyle and work.

There are many reasons why people suffer from Depression. It includes the matter about the inheritance of genes in your family, medical conditions and or brain chemistry.

A few years back, I remembered that I also suffered from a depression and thanks God, I didn’t think to take my life away. Well, being a teenager, it is just normal to suffer such melancholy. What happened to me is that I became sick in both my emotional and physical health. I feel so hopeless, I often loss my appetite, as well as my interest in life, and I do also became irritable that time.

My mother decided to consult me to a doctor, and the doctor give me some medications that will bring back my emotional and physical health. From that very time until now, I maintain my health and take some supplements. I eat healthy foods, I keep myself comfortable and happy, and I do a lot of enjoyable activities.


I have here a checklist of symptoms that a depressed person may have. Check this out and be aware!

  • Negative thoughts such as being hopeless, empty, despair, anxiety, etc.
  • Loss of interest in life
  • Loss of appetite, causing weight changes
  • Loss of energy
  • Impulsive behavior
  • Insomnia or excessive sleeping
  • Irritability
  • Thoughts of committing suicides

Depression is a serious thing. Even the funniest guy in the world didn’t overcome it, and just decided to kill himself by hanging his head  with the use of a belt. It is not easy to defeat depression, but YOU CAN DO IT.

One of the nicest things that I realized when I suffered from depression is that life is wonderful. I may have ups and downs, but that is life. It’s normal to feel down, but is it enough to take away the greatest opportunity I ever had?

Think of this. You have a thousand candies in your hand, and there’s one candy that you have dropped. As a kid, you will be really sad because of that, but is it an enough reason to cry all day long? Will you just be thankful because there’s only ONE candy that you’ve lost, and not the 999 candies?

There are many reasons to live, laugh and smile. If you feel depressed, the only best thing to do is to pray. There’s ONE who is listening above, who knows everything about you, and who knows what’s the best for you. 🙂
